Berwick Hospital

Design and build of the long-awaited, new £35million Berwick community hospital

Delivering a high-quality Hospital for Berwick and bringing advanced healthcare services into operation faster.

In 2023, Merit was chosen as the trusted partner to design and build the new state-of-the-art hospital in Berwick. This 10,500m² facility will offer a variety of essential new services, including endoscopy, maternity care, and a new GP practice, all aimed at enhancing patient experience and making daily life easier for staff. Our focus is on creating a space that not only improves care but also makes a real difference to the lives of the community and the healthcare professionals who support them.

The Hospital will be built using Merit’s FLEXI POD® product platform. This innovative approach combines a conventional shell and core with offsite-manufactured fit-out elements, facilitated through a PODs and Pre-Assembled Modules (PAMS) strategy.

Once operational in Summer 2025, the new facility will provide superior healthcare services that will serve patients in Berwick and across Northumberland.
